1. Delete from inside Symloom
The fastest way to delete your account is from the app itself. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
- Open Symloom and sign in.
- Go to Settings → Account.
- Choose Delete everything.
- Confirm when prompted.
Deletion cannot be undone and we cannot recover your check-ins afterwards. If you want to keep your history, choose Export my data in the same screen before deleting.
2. Request deletion by email
If you can no longer sign in, or you have already removed the app, email support@symloom.com with “Account deletion request” in the subject line, sent from the email address associated with your Symloom account.
We may need to verify your identity before completing the request, so that nobody else can delete your data. We complete verified requests within 30 days and confirm by email when the deletion is done.
3. What is deleted
Deleting your account permanently erases the following from Symloom’s active systems:
- Your account and sign-in credentials, including the link to your Apple or Google account.
- Every check-in, including symptoms, severities, factors, medication context, and free-text notes.
- Any photos you attached to a check-in.
- Your insights, templates, reminders, and app settings.
- Health data previously imported from Apple Health or Health Connect into Symloom.
- Your records held by the services that support Symloom: our analytics provider, our subscription provider, and our install-attribution provider, each of which receives a deletion or erasure request as part of the same process.
Symloom only ever reads from Apple Health and Health Connect, and never writes to them. Deleting your Symloom account removes Symloom’s copy of that data. The original data stays in Apple Health or Health Connect, under your control, and must be deleted there if you also want it removed.
4. What is retained, and for how long
After deletion we do not retain your health data. Limited records may persist briefly or narrowly, in these cases only:
- Encrypted backups. Routine system backups may contain your data until they expire on their normal rotation, within 30 days. They are not used to restore individual accounts.
- Records we are legally required to keep. For example, transaction and tax records relating to a purchase. These never include your symptoms, notes, or health data.
- Correspondence. If you emailed us, the email thread itself is retained under our normal support retention.
5. Your subscription is separate
Deleting your Symloom account does not cancel an active Symloom Pro subscription, because subscriptions are billed by the app store rather than by us. Cancel it before deleting your account, or you may continue to be charged.
- Android: Google Play app → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
- iPhone: Settings app → your name → Subscriptions.
